Print Workshop and Design Studio

25 Prince Street, Ground Floor, Grafton

Our print workshop and design studio, as of November 2020, are both housed in the former Government Savings Bank of NSW built in 1917. A striking feature in the streetscape of Grafton's main business district, this historical building is the perfect location for our design studio. Light and airy with 15ft ceilings and polished black floors, this modern space has been constructed to compliment it's historical surrounds.

Here you will find our meeting rooms, marketing and creative teams.

Print workshop

The Old Print Workshop

Our print workshop was custom built as a printery in the 1970’s.

In November 2020 we undertook the mammoth task of dismantling and moving almost 50 years of machinery, paper and paraphenalia to our Prince St site. A lot of local schools hit the paper and card jackpot with a windfall of our excess stock but much of our machinery made the trip across to the new site.

You can still see Gertie the guillotine working every day as well as our GT046 Heidelberg offset press.

Liza Bloomer

Liza is the captain of the good ship Yoohoo McPhee. She launched Yoohoo Creative & Digital in 2005 and acquired McPhee Print in 2014. Binding the two businesses together ensures a strong market position and a solid business that continues to go from strength to strength.

As owner and agency director she works with her team every day to oversee and coordinate both the design studio and print workshop. It's a very hands on business and every week brings new challenges, opportunities and delights. No day is the same as every business we deal with is unique and has unique needs to brand and build their business identity.

Liza believes you make the community you want to live in and has stepped up to serve hers as a volunteer at the Grafton Regional Gallery, as well as being a Director of the Gallery Foundation. She has served as a board member for Caringa Enteprises, Grafton Chamber of Commerce and Regional Development Australia - Northern Rivers.

In her down time, and when time allows, Liza likes to slide down snow white mountain sides or make multi-day/week hikes across the glorious landscapes mother nature provides. If she is not travelling physically she is doing so mentally, immersed within the pages of a book, especially a Patrick O'Brian Aubrey/Maturin novel. The lesser of two weevils is her favourite joke in the world.

Liza's favourite online places are CSS Tricks and Intrepid Travel.

Julia Basell

Growing up in Perth, Julia has always had a love for art and design and enjoys spending her free time painting and drawing. Julia's formal graphic design education began in 2013 at LCI Melbourne and RMIT. After joining the Yoohoo McPhee team she has explored and advanced her knowledge in the print and finishing world. She loves how the two practices of design and print compliment one another, and strongly believes that she's a better designer with her new found deeper knowledge of print.

Monday to Friday she can be found at our Prince Street studio and would love to chat with you about your print and design projects. On the weekend you can find her walking her dogs Minnie and Kove along the river, cooking up a new recipe with her partner Fabian or like the true Perth girl she is, chasing a wave at the beach.

Lisa Wright

Hey, I'm Lisa.

I'm a graphic designer and art director with over 27 years in advertising. I’ve been designing since we used to cut and paste bromides to create ads. Some of the clients I have worked for include: Mercedes Benz, Cancer Australia, Foxtel, Muffin Break and many Not-for-Profit organisations. I love well-thought-out, clever design, that helps solve a client's main business objectives and targets.

About 2 years ago we made a sea change to Yamba and built a new home and lifestyle in the process, it was the best decision we’ve ever made. I’m looking forward to creating new ways to brand your business and keep building this lovely community we are lucky enough to live in.

In the office, you will find me DJ'ing the Spotify Playlist (I work better to the sound of music).

When I'm not creating at Yoohoo, you can find me designing new prints for my online Print Collection Yamba Scandi or writing and creating DIY ideas and interior solutions over at my DIY space Tomfo.

As a family, we love to drop a line in at our favourite fishing spot with an esky of beer, wine, cheese and crackers, and I’m also a soccer mum, not neccesarily always in that order.

Lou Bloomer

Hi, I am Lou.

I am the driver of the production team, always here to ensure your job is finished to perfection. Based out of the print workshop, I run the collating, binding and specialised production machinery. Machinery that you will not find anywhere else in the Clarence Valley.

Once your order has been printed and been given final approval I will sign, seal and even deliver your package if required.

I am a perfectionist at heart and find the challenge of making each print job impeccable the best part of my job.

2016 saw me arrive home to Grafton to assist in the family business, as we expanded the print workshop and grew the design studio.

I am an actress by profession and have been involved in both national and regional screen productions. Whilst home I am studying to further my creative passions in fashion, art and film.
